Sunday Gatherings: 9:30am & 11:00am

Groups

We believe authentic, Biblical community is critical to the Christian walk. That’s why we prioritize Community Groups here at FBC Loganville.

WHAT ARE GROUPS?
Community Groups are a gathering of believers (as little as 3 people/couples at the beginning) that meet regularly to grow community with one another, discuss & apply God’s Word, and pray.
  • GROW COMMUNITY: to help believers connect in authentic community where they can develop friendships, be encouraged & supported, and held accountable in a grace giving environment.
  • FOCUS ON GOD’S WORD: to help believers grow and mature in their faith through the reading, applying, and responding to God’s Word.
  • PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER: to experience the body of Christ in an intimate way - bearing burdens and praising the Lord together, through prayer.

WHAT IS A GATHERING LIKE?
Community Group gatherings are simple - you’ll have fun, friendly conversation, discuss & apply God’s Word, share what’s on your heart, and pray together.  A sample format is given below:

  • First 10-15 minutes of group time – hangout, catch up, and connect with other members of the group in friendly conversation.
  • Introduce & answer a fun, get-to-know question – designed to get the group talking and connect them to the focal Bible passage.
  • Commit group time to the Lord in prayer – a simple prayer asking for the Holy Spirit to lead & guide the group’s conversation.
  • The next 20-30 minutes is focused on the reading, discussing, and application of God’s Word.  It is here that group members not only read God’s Word but apply the truths from Scripture to their lives.
  • The last 20-30 minutes of group time is given to prayer.  Group members share prayer requests, and these requests are committed and offered up to God.
  • Group members communicate the details of the next meeting (time, place, next focal passage, etc.), dismiss, and then pray for each other until the next gathering.

WHERE DO I START?
We encourage you to look at the people around you and start a group with them. Once you have enough people to start a group (three individuals for a gender specific group or three couples for a married group), select group leaders and have them fill out a Community Group Leader’s application at fbcloganville.org/cgleader.  Once this application is completed and approved, a FBCL staff member will reach out with a starter kit and all the supplies you need.
