Placing Your Trust In Jesus.

What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?
The only way that we are made right with God is through grace by faith (Ephesians 2:8). We are not made right by the things we say or do - only through what Jesus has done. Followers of Jesus are those who believe in Jesus, confess their sin to Him, and lay down their lives to follow Jesus. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who leads His people.

Who is Jesus?
Jesus is the Son of God who was born by the virgin Mary. This means that He did not inherited the sin nature of man but is holy. Jesus lived on earth for about 33 years. During His life He preached, healed, served, and lived a perfect life. At the end of His earthly ministry, Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead three days later - defeating sin and death. Jesus' death was a perfect sacrifice made on behalf of al humanity. Every person can experience the forgiveness found in Jesus and receive a new life.

Why do I need God?
The Bible teaches that your sin creates a separation between you and God (Genesis 3). And the remedy to that separation is Jesus, who died on the cross to forgive you of your sins and rose from the dead to prove the power and restoration that he can bring into your life. John 1:12

How do I have a relationship with God?
Becoming a Christian is a choice that each person has to make for themselves. The decision is made in a moment of salvation and repentance that is followed by daily moments of submission to Jesus' Lordship and will that is found in Scripture.

To confess to Jesus  means to:
A – Admit that you’re a sinner and in need of God’s forgiveness
B – Believe that Jesus died on the cross for you in order to make relationship with God possible
C – Confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior

For those who admit, believe, and confess Jesus will receive forgiveness and a new life in Jesus.  "To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." – John 1:12

How are you saved?

Jesus saves you when you repent and trust in Jesus’ forgiveness for your sins. Your salvation is God’s gift to you. It is not earned by anything you do. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Prayer is a way to communicate our belief to God.

Who can be saved?

Salvation is for all people. No one’s sin is greater than God’s grace. Jesus’ desire is for everyone to be saved. (2 Peter 3:9; John 3:16).

When is a person saved?

God loved us so much that He sent His one and only son into the world so that when we believe, we are given eternal life. We are saved when we believe and receive the truth of the Gospel.

How do we know that we are saved?

The evidence of our salvation is what’s happening in us now. Jesus gives every believer the Holy Spirit, which gives us a desire to live for God and the ability to hear, recognize and respond to God’s voice.
To love God, to want to trust and follow Him, to enjoy His presence, to hear God’s voice in Scripture, and to feel conviction of sin and the need for repentance are all common experiences of those who are saved (John 10:3-5).
