Journey to Bethlehem
November 28th, 2011Hope United Update – from Penny Lowery
November 15th, 2011As some of you might already know, several members of our church have been working within the Bay Creek Community Trailer Park for months now to develop a relationship with the people in that community. Our hope in doing this was to build a trust/bond within the community and in doing so open doors to share Jesus Christ.
We were able to do ROCK THE BLOCK there this past summer and meet many of the children that live there. We have also met many of the adults and have been able to help them with various projects/clean up that they have needed done on their homes.
Having been there and seen the many needs that are there, our church felt overwhelmed to reach out even further to this community. God gave us an opportunity to purchase a trailer, within the park , to use for after school programs, ESL classes, ladies bible study etc. After many months of working with the city on zoning and purchasing, we now have the trailer and are in the process of remodeling it to use for the above programs.
We are currently working on the remodel project and are hoping to paint the inside next week. We will still have a lot of work to complete after that, but we are looking to have the trailer up and running by the second week in January.
The name of the trailer will be: THE HOPE UNITED CENTER
The plan is: starting in January (probably the second week) with the after school program for the children (this will probably start out just one day a week, then gradually go to four days a week). The kids will come there on a voluntary basis (parents must give consent before hand) from 3:30 until 5:30.There will be tutors there (all volunteers-older students, some teachers, whoever wants to help) to help the children with their homework. The time will be very structured for everyone. Tutoring/homework help will be for the first hour, then we will break up into games/fellowship for the second hour. At 5:30 the children will be given a snack (if available) and then released to their parents.
We are also looking to have ESL (English as a second language) classes for the adults, as well as hold a ladies bible study once a week.
We are also planning a dinner on Thanksgiving Day at the trailer. We will be providing the turkey and asking the community to bring all the sides/desserts. This will be another way for us to connect with all the families.
We are so excited that God has opened this door and given us this great opportunity to minister within this community.

Hope United Center at Bay Creek Community
November 9th, 2011What is Hope United?
Hope United is a community outreach ministry of FBC Loganville at the Bay Creek Mobile Home Community in Loganville, GA. This mobile home community is home to over 200 families. God began this ministry by connecting a small group from FBCL with a family at Bay Creek Community in 2011. Since that time, we’ve seen God do some incredible things.
In January 2012 we will start an after school program for the children in the neighborhood and we offer several different programs for children and adults. We are passionate about BEING the Church in our community and our purpose is to offer hope to the children and adults who live in Bay Creek Community by sharing the love of Jesus through our words and actions.

Baptism Service :: Oct. 12, 2011
October 3rd, 2011On Wednesday night, October 12th, in the Worship Center we will all come together as a church family to celebrate those who are following Christ in obedience through believer’s baptism.
Interested in being baptized at FBC Loganville’s upcoming celebration?
We invite you to participate in believer’s baptism, an opportunity to publicly identify yourself with Jesus in his death and resurrection. This is a sacred and beautiful opportunity to declare, “I believe the best possible way to live is the way of Jesus, and I am committed to following Christ—daily dying to myself and allowing the resurrected Christ to live in and through me.”
Baptism is not a means of salvation; rather it is a beautiful picture of our union with Christ and our declaring that we want to join Him in His work.
To learn more about what we believe about baptism and how you can be baptized, please contact us.

See you on Wednesday, October 12 at 6:45 pm!
