Food, Glorious Food!
November 10th, 2010Food has been rolling through our doors by the bagfuls the last few weeks! Thank you for ALL of the donations for our food pantry and for the Blessing Baskets dinner! Each week we have many families who come to us for help in meeting their physical needs and it is such a blessing to be able to do so and not turn them away. Thank you for your willingness to serve God through serving others!
Communion
September 22nd, 2010Lord’s Supper is worship through remembrance. It is specifically for those who have placed their faith in Jesus and asked Him to lead their lives, and is a response to one of Jesus’ last instructions to His disciples. By eating and drinking a small portion of bread and juice, we remember Christ’s death that paid for our sins, His constant presence and love in our lives, and His promise to return.
We hope you will join us this Sunday as we take an entire morning to focus on what He has done . . . for us . . . through His death.
Sunday morning | 9:30 & 11:00 am
Wednesday evening | 6:45 pm

September 14th, 2010Happy New Year!
August 2nd, 2010It’s unbelievable that a new school year is about to start. And while most of us are too old to step back into the classroom when the first bell rings this fall (you can try, but you’re likely to get some odd looks and be escorted from the building), we’re all affected – even those of us who don’t have kids. Don’t believe me? Just think about how nice it’s been not getting stuck behind the school bus these last couple of months!
We’ve also got some changes and happenings within the life of the church that are taking place around the same time. Here’s the run-down:
1. In case you didn’t already know, the Sunday service times, they are a-changin’. There will no longer be the 8:30 service, the 9:50 service or the 11:10 service. Instead, we’re moving to two Sunday morning services at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Of course, the big part of this is that we’re opening up the new building so we’ll technically have four services now!
2. Worship: In the Worship Center, Jerry Coursey will be leading worship to blended music (similar to what we currently do). In the Expanded Worship Center [some people call it "the new building", "the youth building" (really Wayne Naugle calls it that in an attempt to overtake it), "Worship Center v2.0", "Worship Center, The Sequel", "The Worship Center Strikes Back", or "The Purple People Seater"], Justin Melton will be leading worship. Maybe you prefer worshiping God to one style of music over the other and you’ll choose to attend one of those services regularly. Or perhaps you like both and will flip-flop between services. Or maybe you love both styles so much that you’ll sprint from one building to the other and back again in a total panic, just trying to soak it all in. Whatever you decide, we’re excited to have this new space and more opportunities for true worship to take place.
3. Wednesday Nights: Wednesday nights are going to offer those who can’t be there on Sundays the chance to essentially experience the same service that just happened the Sunday before. Ronnie will deliver the same sermon from the previous Sunday and Justin will lead worship in a more laid-back, acoustic style (think of it as Justin Unplugged. Or not.).

June 30th, 2010VBS Music
June 10th, 2010Lots of people have been asking about where to purchase the music that the kids learned during VBS:
Go to: amberskyrecords.com
Register a user name and purchase credits (10 credits for $12.50). Then you can search for songs in the song section and download them all (each song is 1 credit). Be sure to download the “Full Mix” version…the others are with background vocals and without background vocals…they are performance tracks! (Which I guess you can do if you want a little family karaoke time!
)
If you do this option, you will be able to choose other songs that you like as well!
On the cd “Live It Out” we also use the songs “Happy Day”, “Lean On me”, “Live It Out”, and “We Shine” in worship already! Also, you can look up “Everything Fades”…it is a really cool version of the books of the Bible.
Other songs we suggest: “We Won’t Be Quiet”, “You Are God”, and “My Rock”.
