What Has God Restored?

June 1st, 2010

I posed a question to our staff this week:

What has God restored in your life?

The answers were interesting and it was amazing to see how personal God is. So thankful He loves each of us individually and is so concerned with our lives. What an incredible honor that is!

From Carolyn Carter:
God has restored my life… once headed toward complete destruction and defeat, because of my own sinful choices, now filled w/hope and assurance through the blood of Jesus Christ! Greg will tell anyone that we were a statistic waiting to happen. Divorce was clearly an option before Christ drew us back to Himself and turned us around.

When I think what we could have become I/we just have to praise God for HIS divine intervention. My children were 10 & 7 years of age before God got a hold on my heart, so many years without a church home/family. Their grandparents took them to church and sent them to church camp, because we seldom darkened the doors of a church and it was certainly not a habitual thing… then the only ONE who can drew us to HIMSELF… through friends shining HIS light in this community (at the ball field, at the grocery store, at our children’s school). Fall 1980 we began to attend LBC on Main Street Loganville. Steve Scoggins was the pastor and the first pastor we’d ever heard who preached the truth, simple, straight and with a heart filled w/love. (Ronnie reminds us of Steve.) Our journey of FAITH began then and continues thru today.

From Jimmy Wilson:
My brother and I never got along, our entire lives. We fought each other, and caused each other a lot of pain. However, the Lord brought us together in a miraculously way, the last week of his life. He had gone into a diabetic coma, and was on life support. The attending doctor recommended that we disconnect the life support and allow him to pass away peacefully. However, Mother and I did not have peace about losing him so quickly. We instead insisted on aggressive treatment to bring him out of the coma. Graciously, God answered our prayers and my brother woke up. Even though he would only have ten days left to live, the Lord performed a marvelous work of restoration between him and me, and his daughter. I was able to confess all the deeds I had done to cause him pain, and receive his forgiveness. He was able to completely reconcile with his estranged daughter.

It was a time of joy when the Lord called my brother home, because of God’s work to restore these vital relationships. I will always be grateful to the Lord for this opportunity to make reconciliation.

From Barry Hardin:

The first thing that comes to my mind is the way Mitzi and I are spending more time together opening up too each other and getting up in the mornings working out, walking and or running together. Its just awesome the way God can restore your marriage if we just allow him to take control of our lives and just be sold out to him.

Now let’s hear from you. What has God restored in your life?
